   A Jewish barber [Charlie Chaplin],escapes from the Tomainian army and comes back to him home in Getto.The Jewish people in Getto is tormented by the ruthless dictator of Tomaninia, Adenold Hynkel [Charlie Chaplin]. The brave barber tries his best to resist the brutal police for his fellow Jews but finally he gets caught and send off to a concentration camp.But fortune favors the brave.....

1. This movie was made by Chaplin to mock the dictators Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.He condemns fascism,antisemitism and the Nazi's the best way possible and he was mighty successful in doing so.
2. The final speech made by Chaplin's good character,the Jewish Barber is still considered as one of the best speeches by anyone towards democracy and condemning fascism and violence.
3. It must be interesting to know that the movie was written,produced and directed by Charlie Chaplin itself.
4. Charlie Chaplin admitted that he didn't  know the actual facts in a Nazi concentration camp and if he had known it before he would not have made this movie.
5. Chaplin received many threats after this movie and he once admitted that he felt afraid.
6. The film was banned in many Latin American countries where there were many Nazi Sympathizers.
7. United Kingdom too decided to ban this movie during it's production as they were at peace with Nazi Germany then.But at the time of the movies release UK was at war with them and so the government thought that a Chaplin movie against Hitler will the best weapon against the dictator.
8. The film was banned in many other European countries too.
9. The movie was a tremendous hit at the box office.It was the most successful movie in Charlie Chaplin's career.
10. The movie was nominated for five Academy Awards including the Best Actor and the Best Director.
11. The movie collected a world wide gross of $5 million then,with inflation adjusted will be around $85 million now.
