Verdict: A well-crafted mob movie with a stirring plot.

  Micheal Sullivan[Tom Hanks],who lost his parents early in life,was survived by an Irish mobster John Rooney[Paul Newman],and Sullivan and family owes their life to him, for the stature they have reached now.But it was never easy for Sullivan as his job with Rooney was that of an enforcer and hit man and Rooney loved him like his own son, for his efficiency and sincerity.Sullivan's older son,Micheal,curious to find out his father's real job one day hides himself in the car's trunk when Sullivan and Rooney's biological son Connor, were out on their duty to take out one of Rooney's traitor.Young Micheal witnesses the murder with shock and on the way out from the scene both Sullivan and Connor sees young Micheal and they warns him to keep it a secret.But this incident starts taking an affect on Micheal's reasoning and his approach towards his father.

      Connor[Daniel Craig],always failed to impress his father because of his stupid deeds and it was Sullivan,who was relied upon by Rooney for help and advice.Jealousy starts to sprout inside Connor and he decides to take out Sullivan by sending him to a disgruntled associate Finn,but Sullivan shoots Finn and saves himself.Meanwhile Connor breaks in to Sullivan's home and shoots down his wife and younger child.Micheal Jr. who was away, reaches home in time to witness the event and manages to hide himself from Connor.On his return Sullivan  finds his half family dead and vows to strike back,but it's not easy as Rooney is the mafia king who rules the town and Connor is his biological son.Will Rooney sacrifice his stupid son for a more sincere and efficient Sullivan?!

   Sullivan and Micheal leaves the town for Chicago to meet Al Capone who works for Rooney,but his under boss Nitti refuses to help Sullivan and warns him about the dangerous mission he is on.So Sullivan decides to go to a small town called Perdition,where his sister lives so that he can leave his son Micheal somewhere in safe custody.Knowing Sullivan and his mastery,Rooney and Nitti finally decides to take out Sullivan in the interest of their business and for life of Connor.They pick on an assassin named Harlen Maguire[Jude Law],to eliminate Sullivan for ever.Harlen discovers that Sullivan is en route tp Perdition and decides to get on the 'Road to Predition'.

         The movie provides you with some chilling and dramatic moments from then on.The revenge drama that follows is so rousing and breathtaking ,that will make you goggle at your screen till the end.Outstanding performances from the lead casts especially Tom Hanks,Paul Newman,Jude Law and Daniel Craig makes this move a stand out one among Hollywood crime thrillers.The movie is a visual treat and no wonder it won the top honor in this category at the Oscar's.Sam Mendes once again exhibit his talent as a reliable and effective director.GO FOR IT...
