Verdict: A spine-chiller.Hat's off to Sean Connery.
 #PLOT.
      Bobby Erl Ferguson,a former student of Cornell University,is convicted on raping and murdering an young white girl.He is sentenced for execution in the electric chair.As a last chance to save his son Bobby's mother approaches Paul Armstrong [Sean Connery],a reputed professor in Harvard.Paul who hasn't practiced as a lawyer for 25 years first refuse but later he agrees on to meet Bobby.Bobby tell him that he confessed the crime because of a 22 hour brutal torture by the police and chief detective Tanny Brown [Laurence Fishburne]. Paul sets out on his own to investigate the details and evidences collected from prison and his fellow inmate Blair Sullivan [Ed Harris] helps the professor to prove Bobby's innocence in court and to get back his freedom.But further incidents manifests that Paul Armstrong erred in his assumptions.His family is in grave trouble and he must identify What's what and Who's who before it's too late.
#POSITIVES.
1. An intriguing plot that will keep you engaged throughout.Excellent suspense and a great twist the climax.
2. Illustrious performance from the great Sir Sean Connery.His charm and persona perfectly suits the character.
3. It's a pleasure to watch Scarlet Johannson, as a child artist.
4. Excellent visuals and good direction.Great pace helps to keep the thrill.
5. A cameo from the great Ed Harris is the surprise factor and his role is the backbone of the suspense.
 #NEGATIVES.
1. Crimes against young children is always hard to watch.
2. Cliches as in every thriller movies.
3. The back ground score doesn't suit the story.
4. Some torture scenes in jail is disturbing.
#BOX OFFICE.
     The movie received mixed reviews from critics mainly because of it's theme.The movie got a thumps up from the public both in US and UK.The movie grossed more than$37 million at the box office which made it a box office success.

  2. well..i too dont like crime movies against children.but i love a sean connery movie..to me he is one the best actors i have seen..if he was an american born he would have got more Oscrs than any other actor.
