Verdict: A worth some musical drama.Excellent making.

#PLOT.
  The story of Jean Valjean [Hugh Jackman],a slave,who finally gets a parole but he is tempted to break that parole and decides to lead a free life.But a thief is always a thief and so tries to steal from a church but the kindly priest saves him from the authorities.This warmly deed changes the life of this man and he decides to serve the needy and eventually becomes the mayor of a local town.But his past never leave him as his supervisor Javert[ Russel Crowe] ,who is a ruthless officer specks him and now it's a fight between the good and evil amidst the great revolution of France.

#POSITIVES.
1. An epic musical drama about the fictional character of Jean Valjean written by Boublil and Schonberg which in turn is based on the 1862 novel by Frenchman Victor Hugo.Precise characterizations and excellent casting.
2. The main highlight of the movie is the performance from the lead actors.It's never easy to perform in a musical drama especially to take care of your emotions and dramatic skills while taking care of your discourse.Hats off to Hugh Jackman,Anna Hathaway,Russel Crowe and Amanda Seyfried.Along with all other cast's they excelled in their parts.
3. Top notch technicians made this movie special,especially Sound Mixing,cinematography,make-ups and hair styling.

#NEGATIVES.
1. Drama,music and old plots can be dragging for many especially with not much commercial elements attatched.
2. Lack of reality as the film excels in it's special effects.This movie is preferably for the gigantic screen instead of home viewing  in your DVD player.
3. Lots of heart breaks,lousy moments and stupid action just as a drama which may make some think this one as a theatre drama rather than a movie.

#BOX OFFICE AND OTHER ACCOLADES.
1. The movie won eight nominations for the Academy Awards including the best actor and Best Motion Picture.Finally it won three including Best Sound Mixing,Make-Up,Hair Styling and Best Supporting Actress to the all gorgeous Anna Hathaway.
2. The film won various awards in many film festivals including the Golden Globe's,Empire Awards,British Academy Awards.
3. The movie was well received by the critics with tremendous praise over the performances ,the plot and the direction.
4. At the box office this movie created magic grossing over $440 million against a moderate budget of $ 61 million.
