#PLOT.
   Chuck Noland [Tom Hanks],an expert in time management working in FedEx leaves his girlfriend Kelly after Christmas for an emergency  trip to Malaysia.While flying,the plane gets through a violent storm and it crashes into the Pacific Ocean.Chuck manages to grab on to a life raft and drifts miles before washing upon on an uninhibited island.With search teams fail to find him, he has to spend his life in this remote island alone with the hope of getting back to the mainland one day and meet Kelly.As years go by Chuck's hopes seems to diminish but he is not yet ready to bow down to his fate.He keeps himself strong both physically and mentally.

1. The production of this movie was not continuous.Tom Hanks gained 50 pounds to look chubby during pre-production so that the FedEx officer of Chuck's role could be shot perfectly.Then the production was halted for one year so that he can lose his weight and grow his hair and beard to look like a surviving and starving man in the island.
2. The film's music was specially composed with creature sound effects to reinforce the feeling of isolation of the character.
3. FedEx management provided full access to their facilities including airplanes,trucks and logistics to support the crew.A team of FedEx officers assisted the crew through their entire production work.
4. FedEx team didn't charge any money for using their logo.Instead they found a huge jump in their profits after the release of this movie.

5. The film was shot in Monuriki,the largest island in Fiji.The tourist flow into that island almost tripled after the release of this movie.
6. The film starts and ends in Texas at almost the same place.
7. The Screen writer of this movie stranded himself on an island in Mexican sea to research about being alone in an island.The idea of opening a coconut and making fire was inducted ,as he himself tried it on the island.
