Verdict: Disney's western version.Watch it for Johnny Depp.

         A child visiting a wild west museum in 1933 meets an elderly Comanche,Tonto[Johnny Depp] and he narrates him a story from his own life.A cruel and bloody story of west and his experience with a masked man called The Lone Ranger.
       The story is set in 1869,when John Ried[Armie Hammer],a lawyer returns to his home in Colby,Texas.During those times a railroad is being built connecting the whole continent by a company called Transcontinental Railroad managed by a rude person called Lathan Cole.The train John Ried is in, carries two prisoner's  Tonto and a brutal outlaw Butch Cavendish.In the following ambush Cavendish is rescued by his dangerous gang and John who is a law abiding person jails Tonto.

      John's brother Dan,who is the Texas ranger forms a team and decides to go after the deadly Cavendish.John too joins them to take Cavendish into custody.But Cavendish's men attach the group and kill all of them.John pretends to be dead and the gang leaves.But he is saved by Tonto,who manages to escape from jail.Tonto who is abandoned by his own tribe is very superstitious and he believes John as the 'Spirit Walker',who can never be killed and who can never miss a target.He asks him to wear a mask and he gets a superstitious White Horse to ride on.The white horse seems to have special powers to save them whenever they fall in trouble.

       John and Tonto try to chase down Cavendish and in their long pursuit they realize many facts that the railroad is being built to smuggle out the rich silver deposits in the native Indian territory.Cavendish takes Dan's  wife and son as hostages and try to kill them.But they are freed by the crooked Cole as he always wanted her as his wife.John and Tonto needs to kill Cavendish and Cole to save the town and the railroad from falling into the hands of smugglers.

     The movie is more like a fantasy than real.It's fun, basically intended for children, than a more of a serious western thriller.The makers are not successful in creating any suspense or tremor usually associated with western movie's.The movie will not appeal much for a serious western movie lover.But there are some saving graces too, such as some stunning visuals and mind blowing action sequences.The movie has rich production values too and its evident from it's frames.
   Johnny Depp saves the movie to a large extend by his lively performance and remarkable portrayal as the Comanche.His makeover is excellent and so do his modulations.All other's just didn't live up to the western standards.The movie was not a big success at the box office mainly because of it's heavy budget.But overall a movie that can be enjoyed with your children,if you have too much time to spare in your life.
