   Axel Foley[Eddie Murphy] is a reckless,funny but smart police officer in Detroit.His boss is mad at him as an unauthorized operation of Axel misfires causing serious damage o town's property.Axel meets an old friend of his who was in prison for long.After a long chat with him, as they return back his friend Mikey gets killed by two men and Axel get knocked down unconscious.A dejected Axel asks his superior to investigate this case about his friends murder but he refuses.So Axel decides to go on a vacation so that he can take the matter in his own hands in spite of a serious warning from his superior to stay out of it.So he decides to travel to Beverly Hills ,the last place Mikey worked and to hunt down his friends killers.

  A never-too-serious Axel meets Jenny,another childhood friend of his who arranged job for Mikey in Beverly Hills.Both decide to investigate into Mikey's murder.But the main suspect seems to be a reputed business man called Victor Maitland.Axel first meeting with Victor turns out sour and the Beverly hills cops detain him and warns him about his unofficial investigation.So they put two detectives John and Billy to tail him and to report Axel's deeds.The funny yet smart Axel eludes them many times and finally all three of them make up.They become friends and Axel explains his side of story to them.This portion of the movie is filled with some smart humor.

        Axel discovers that Victor is actually a smuggler but the Beverly Hills police reuse to take action without solid evidence and decides to escort Axel out of town.Axel gets help from Billy for the last time to gather the much needed evidence from Victor's go down but things get sore as Victor and his men captures Jenny.Now Axel needs the help of Beverly Hills police department to save her and bring down Victor.

      The plot seems very serious but the movie is actually filled with so much fum and that too some serious humor.Eddy Murphy was shot to international stardom with this movie.The humor and cheeky charm generated by him is too good that even a stone hearted person too will eventually laugh by this one.This movie os one of the highest grossing movie in Hollywood and it was at the no.1 spot at the box office for almost 14 weeks continuously.The whole star cast and the crew deserves credit for pulling out something like this one.DON'T MISS IT....
