Gordon Brewer (Arnold), is a brave firefighter of Los Angeles leading a happy married life his wife and a child.Fate strikes him in the worst manner as his son and wife gets killed in a bomb explosion by a guerrilla commando who was on a mission to assassinate some Colombian officials and American intelligence agents in retaliation of the US policy in Colombia.Brewer happens to have a sight of the guerrilla' El Lobo' (the wolf) just before the explosion.The loss of his family turns Brewer depressed and he decides to seek avenge his family's death as he finds the US officials uninterested in interfering further in Colombia.So he decides to take the matter in his own hands and travels to Colombia alone, via.Panama.
Brewer who had to face a lot of stumbling blocks in Colombia manages to get a fake pass ,as a mechanic into the guerrilla territory.He spots the guerrilla headquarters where the Wolf camps, but gets caught by the guerrillas in an attempted explosion to take out the guerrillas.Surprisingly he gets saved from being killed, by the wife of Wolf ,Selena.Brewer is locked up in a staple where he is treated well by Selina.Selina slowly takes Brewer into confidence that she is not happy with her husband's violent means ans she and her child wants to defect and move into America.
As the US military attacks the guerrilla camp Brewer and Selina along with her child is saved and taken to America.Selina promises her help to the officials about El Lobo's next target and identifies the building in which he had planted the bomb.But the film take an unexpected turn proving that a guerrilla mind will always be barbarous and bitter against capitalist ideologies.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Fransesca Neri gives a thumbs- up performance, but the film unfortunately suffered at the box office due to long delay to release and chirping of some important parts. post the 9/11 attacks in America.The movie has an excellent climax along with some breathtaking action sequences.It's worth your time.
