Verdict: A movie full of life.Excellent.

      Carlito Brigande [Al Pacino],a Puerto Rican criminal,after serving five years in prison is freed by his friend and lawyer Dave Kleinfield [ Sean Penn] by his effective arguments in court.Carlito owes his new life to Dave and both of them become true friends.Fed up of crime and prison Carlito decides to live a peaceful life and earn some money legally and retire into a paradise in Bahamas where he intents to rent cars.So he keeps away from all crimes and other friends but his past keeps following him as a dark shadow.With the help of Dave he decides to join as partner in a bar where he could earn the required money to retire and chase his dream.

     Carlito was a name everyone feared in gangster field so no one usually messed up with him in his bar even though Carlito always chose to remain calm.Carlio also rekindles his romance with his former girl friend Gail [Penelope Miller],and everything seemed working just as desired.With Carlito now behind his back,Dave seemed to have lost his mind by getting involved in serious problems.Moreover alcohol and coke seemed to get more control of him that he starts thinking stupid and moronic.Carlito tries to warn him and advice him about his transgression.But he drags Carlito into serious danger by involving him in a mission to jailbreak a renowned gangster Tony .Carlito initially refuse but his love for Dave tempts him to join this unlawful act.

       Everything goes wrong as Dave acts stupid again and Carlito finally realizes the actual Dave and his motive.But it seems a bit late for Carlito as he is confined into a difficult situation.But he has to keep his promise given to Gail and  escape to the paradise he always dreamed about.
     Al Pacino,such an excellent actor that he lives as Carlito in this movie.Brian De Palma is always wealthy in bringing out the best in him.Just like Scarface here too Al Pacino's character has to go through various emotions in life and he does that effortlessly.A great drama told in a mafia back ground,this movie will live in your memory for long.MUST WATCH.
