Verdict: A WELL CRAFTED HORROR FANTASY ABOUT THE MYSTERY AND LIFE OF VAMPIRES

                       The movie starts with an interview by Daniel Molly[Christian Slater] with Louis de Pointe[Brad Pitt],who is a vampire and he explains how he became one ,his life after that and his misery being an immortal.Louis ,who had lost all faith in life and wanted to die somehow is attacked by a vampire called Lestat [Tom Cruise] and by the will of Louis,Lestat turns him into a vampire.Louis expected a better world as an immortal but with Lestat he discovers that the world of evil and immortality is all bout killing the innocent and feeding on their blood.So Louis disagrees with Lestat's theory and starts feeding on the blood of rats and other animals instead of humans.
                    As plague spreads around, Louis discovers a girl weeping by the side of her mother who had died by plague already and in the intention to save her from her sufferings, he sucks her blood.But Lestat who makes a sudden appearance, decides to turn her into a  vampire by giving the girl his blood.Both Louis and Lestat treats the young vampire as their daughter,but inside the girl; who cannot grow up from a child to a women in the rest of her life;creates a lots of frustration and anger in her mind.This explodes into big recrimination and Louis and the little girl tries to escape from the clutches of Lestat by trying to kill him.

           They escape in a ship to Paris ,where Louis starts his search of other vampires of his kind and become successful in meeting a group under a leader Armand[Antonio Bendares].Louis tries to get answers to his many questions about vampire life,but he and the little girl gets buried for ever by this group.The little girl dies in a deep well, exposed to sunlight,but Louis is saved by Armond from his coffin not as a favor but to make him a companion of himslef.Louis gets unsettled by the girls death and he takes revenge on the group and finally leaves behind Armond too.He returns back to New Orleans,America where he meets with Lestat ,who has lost all his luster as a vampire and leads life feeding on rats.

            The story of Louis ends there but Molly,interested in the life of vampires,proposes to be his companion but an outrageous Louis vanishes.On the way back ,Molly encounter someone special which turns his life forever.
          Tom Cruise,such a charming personality he is,excels in the role of Lestat.He has the looks and the charm of a vampire to attract women towards him.Brad Pitt has a bigger and complex role in the movie as Louis and he nurtures his character well.Antonio Bendares, fits into the role of Armand perfectly with his usual style and persona.The movie is well crafted with rich production values.The movie won  OSCARs for art direction and best original score.Its an interesting watch for movie buffs who has a fondness for fantasies.
