MOVIE: TOMBSTONE [1993]
Genre: Drama/Action/Western
Cast: Kurt Russell,Val Kilmer
Director: George P.Cosmatos,Kevin Jaree
IMDb rating: 7.8/10
Deeps rating: 7.5/10
Verdict: Good western with some intriguing plot.
# PLOT.
The movie is set in the town called Tombstone in Arizona in the year 1879.Wyatt Earp [Kurt Russell],is a retired peace officer reunites with his brothers Virgil and Morgan and all three brothers decide to settle in Tombstone. They meet Wyatt's old friend Doc Holliday[Val Kilmer],who is a full time gambler, smoker and an alcoholic.During those times Tombstone is controlled by an outlaw gang called Cochise Cowboys and so the law and order in the town was pathetic.Wyatt makes handsome money there with his brothers and he always tried to keep his head out of all the troubled activities going around him in Tombstone. He advised  his brothers the same but fate drags his brothers into the dreadful proceedings.

As the town was plunging into deep criminal activities, Wyatt's older brother, Virgil takes over as the new marshal and he imposes a weapon ban in the town. The dangerous cowboy gang takes revenge and as Wyatt's brothers are attacked, Wyatt is pressurized to  help. The former law enforcement officer Wyatt can be brutal and deadly when wounded;the fact the cowboy's failed to realize.
# POSITIVE'S.

1. Top notch performance from Kurt Russell. He looks dynamic and convincing as Wyatt.
2.Equally good performance from Val Kilmer too.He enacted the tuberculosis Doc with perfection.
3.The movie gathers pace towards the end and ends with some great western action sequences.
4.Thrilling plot and good screenplay. Some nice one liners
# NEGATIVE'S

1. Slow start and a lot of drag in the first half.
2. Too much dramatic scenes in between which kills the thrill
3. Romantic scenes were unconvincing.

# BOX OFFICE

The movie made with a budget of $25 million on to gross more than $56 million at the box office. This made it a financial success and helped to add another feather in the cap of Kurt Russell during the 90's.The critics too gave a thumps up for this one.

I am Deepak Unnikrishnan and I will be back with another movie from my collection, soon.
