Verdict: A honest thriller set inside a nuclear submarine.

          As political turmoil reaches it's climax in Russia,military rebels ,complying with leader Redchenko take hold of key military facilities including a nuclear missile installation.Tremors are felt in pentagon as US fear nuclear attack from Russian rebels onto US and Japan.Pentagon takes swift action and decide to send the prestigious nuclear submarine 'USS Alabama' captioned by Frank Ramsey[Gene Hackman].He choses his new XO, Lt.Commander Ron Hunter [Denzel Washigton]and the highly trained crew embarks upon the mission to attack the rebels with nuclear missiles before the rebels launch.But the Captain and XO has different concepts about a nuclear war that is about to happen.

       The order is received from the central command for nuclear launch and the missiles are set ready in the submarine for the launch.A sudden attack from a Russian submarine nearby destroys Alabama's radio system and the next warning message from Central command is received  incomplete.The Captain and crew are confused whether the message is to launch the missile or abort.
Captain Ramsey stays on with his decision to launch the missile as he sees no logic in aborting as the first message was to get ready for the launch.But XO,Hunter has a different idea and that is to wait till the radio problem is resolved,as he doesn't want a nuclear holocaust to happen by their stupidity.

        This leads to a mutiny inside the submarine resulting in the arrest of Ramsey and XO,Hunter taking over the command.Future of both depends on the decision to launch the missile.If they are late then US will be under attack and if they launch it by an incomplete command order,then a nuclear war starts that will put millions of life in danger.
     A sincere story about the chain of commands when it comes to nuclear launch and life of sailors inside a submarine with two commanding officers with different judgements.Tony Scott came up with an interesting thriller with a totally different plots.With great actors like Denzel Washigton and Gene Hackman,his attempt became successful and riveting..INTERESTING ONE...
