Verdict: Excellent life drama in an underworld neighborhood.Must watch.

Calegero,lives in an Italian -American neighborhood called The Bronx with his father and mother.His father,Lorenzo[Robert De Niro],is a bus driver and is very hard working.He loves his father and respects him a lot even though he is aware that a working man like his father can't earn enough to fulfill all his needs.Bronx is ruled by a gangster named Sonny[Chaz Palminteri] who is very rich and powerful.Everyone respects him but Calegero can't decide whether it's out of fear or love.Sonny owns a bar nearby and Calegero peeps out into the bar often and try to understand the people there and Sonny's associates.Respect for Sonny starts to grow inside him.One day Calegero happens to witness a murder committed by Sonny in the street and when the cops ask him to identify the murderer,Calegero keeps mum and doesn't point out Sonny.This impresses Sonny and he approaches Lorenzo with a job offer but a straight forward Lorenzo turns it down as he doesn't want to be part of any mafia.

   But Sonny likes Calegero a lot and he starts helping him and advising him everyday about getting a job and staying away from mafia work.He starts calling him 'C' and both become very close.Lorenzo is annoyed by this association and  warns Sonny to stay away from his kid.But as C grows up he becomes a close friend of Sonny and Sonny considers him as his own son.Grown up C has many friends in the Bronx street who are notorious and idiotic and Sonny warns C to stay away from them.One day C meets a black girl called Jane ad he shares his secret with Sonny.At a time when Italians and Black community in America were almost at war,Sonny gives C all the confidence required to carry on with his love.But things turn violent when C's stupid friends decide to attack the black street where Jane lives.

       A tale of love and life, well narrated by the legend Robert De Niro.Story gives an insight about the lives of kids living under the shadow of crime and guns.It also shows the warm side of people who does hard jobs.Love and care has a lot of meaning in life.It's what that decides the fate of your young ones.Kids tend to imitate  people whom they respect and the deeds and advise of these people decides his future.A must watch movie..
