Verdict : A GREAT FAMILY DRAMA WTH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CLIMAX YOU CAN IMAGINE.

         Sir Philip Anthony Hopkins is one of the greatest actors in Hollywood who would find a place in the top ten actors list of any critic.Considered as one of the best living actors ,he is well known for rendering  perfection and clarity to almost all of his characters.A genius from Wales,he won the Academy award for the best actor for the movie The silence of the lambs.He has also won many awards like the BAFTA awards and the EMMY's.He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth 2 and henceforth called Sir Anthony Hopkins. A salute to the great man through this page.

      Brad Pitt,the evergreen hero of Hollywood;man who has given enormous hits in his long career.He is also a well known producer.He has won multiple awards and nomination for Academy Awards and Golden Globe.Always in news for his family life and movies,he has won lots of fans across the world for his variety of roles from 1991 till date.This movie is one of the first movies as a hero in Hollywood.

    The movie is about a father,Colonal William Ludlow [Anthony Hopkins] and his three sons Alfred,Tristian and Samuel.Colonal who is sick of betrayals by US governments on Native Americans leads a life in wilderness with his sons and a former outlaw Decker and his family in Montana.Life seems happy and peaceful until his youngest son Samuel arrives back from Harvard with his fiancee ,Susannah.The brothers and the father are happy to welcome them but things start a sad turn when Samuel ,a naive, decides to enlist himself in World War 1 against his fathers intentions.Alfred too decides to join him for the war. Tristian [Brad Pitt],who is fathers favorite for his courage and skills tries to advice his brothers as per Susannahs wish. Tristian ,who is a real warrior had a fight with a bear at an young age itself with both getting injured n the brawl finally decides to join the brothers to protect them in the war.It seems that he saved the bear in his heart ever then.Boys leave leaving behind dad and Susannah with Dextor and family.Dextor's daughter Isabel ,who is a girl is fond of Tristian and wishes to be his wife in future.

           Samuel,dies in the war as his unwanted enthusiasm make him an easy target for the enemies.Alfred returns with his brothers heart and after the ceremony ,he proposes lonely Susannah.But she refuses and waits for Tristian to come back as she liked him inside her.Tristian returns, making everyone happy except a jealous Alfred and thus so Alfred decides to leave the family for better prospects for his career in Helena.The relations between two brothers become sour on Susannah and their minds drift apart.Alfred makes a great career in Helena and becomes a congressman.While Tristian loses control over his emotions just as if the bear sleeping inside him woke up and he leaves behind Susannah and father to a deserted life.A mighty successful Alfred returns but fails to impress his father once again .Situations dictate terms and Alfred decides to marry the lonely Susannah and starts a wealthy life as a congress man in Montana.Colonel suffers stroke and is survived by Dextor and family.To everyone's surprise Tristian returns to find his sick father and lost girl.Tristian decides to make things straight with his brother and his enemies.
        The movie turns into a thriller towards the end with the most exciting climax you can ever imagine.Full of twists and turns the movie takes you to a different level in its last 30 minutes.Anthony Hopkins steals the show with his mastery in acting.His character,from a strict Colonel to a half paralyzed father requires so much prowess and he delivers it with ease.Brad Pitt,who was a beginner in Hollywood during those times renders a great performance with lots of conviction.Watch this movie for its emotions,romance ,betrayal and most important ,for its thrilling CLIMAX.
