Verdict : Nostalgia.One of the greatest action movies of my childhood.A must watch with kids.

      English movies was all about James Bond and his 007 heroics in many third world countries until 1980,s.Comman man, who found it difficult to understand the language ,the nudity and the content, stayed away from cinema halls then.For them there were regional language movies which were much inferior to hollywood movies then but they found it more trustworthy and satisfying.During those times James Bond movies had a huge fan base in these countries and people thronged theaters to watch them.But that was English movies for them until the rise of a Herculian Superstar called Stallone!!!
     His action movies got thunderous responses from all quarters and house full boards in front of halls playing his movies became regular.The concept that Hollywood movies are for the educated and rich was shattered and huge crowds including families,kids,youth,old,poor and even the sick started to flow to halls  nearby halls ,just to watch Stallone in action.The poor and the small workers saved money from their daily meal to take their families to watch Stallone movies.He revolutionized or metamorphosed Hollywood cinema in many third world countries.Sylvester stallone laid the foundation for the enormous acceptability Hollywood enjoys these days.To me he is the first real Universal Super Star.

     Now getting into the movie CLIFFHANGER,its all action and adventure of mountaineering with some heavy thrills and a perfect climax.Gabriel or Gabe[Stallone] is a mountaineer working as rescue team member in the highly dangerous Rocky mountains.An unfortunate incident that happened during a regular excercice which results in the death of one of his co worker,the girlfriend of his best pal Hal[Micheal Rooker] slipping off from his hands makes Gabe disappionted and leading to his decision of leaving the rescue team and starting a new life in Denver.After months he returns back to get his girl friend[Janin Turner] but her request to get involved in a mission to save some people who got stranded in the mountains takes Stallone back to the dangerous Rocky mountain during the most windy and snowy season.He and Hall take up the mission but the stranded guys were no ordinary people but high profile hijackers trying for a mid air theft of federal money and getting crashed in the mountains .
   The highly armed group takes Gabe and Hal as hostages and gets takes them along in pursuit of the lost bags of money with tracking device fitting in them.Gabe escapes from their cluthces and decides to take them  head on to save his friend and destroy the money.
   The movie gathers pace with every scene and the thrills you every minute.The fight between Gabriel Walker and the hijackers takes you to a different world of action and intoxicating adventure.This movie is a perfect family watch and it wont dissapoint you and thenew generation guys and kids will enjoy it.Its much better than any recent HiFi ,superhuman actions flicks.
